Self-repair in consecutive interpretation is a normal phenomenon. However, frequent self-repair will affect the fluency of interpreting. The thesis aims at finding out the main reasons of self-repair and proposing solutions accordingly through analyzing Korean to Chinese consecutive interpreting of the 2017 China Forum Mock Conference. The thesis first introduced the definition of self-repair,then included the forms of self-repair in the case according to whether the result of self-repair achieves the goal. And then the author analyzed the main causes of self-repair on the basis of the source language and notes, and finally proposed strategies to reduce self-repair according to the reasons. With the analysis, the author divided the self-repair in the case into effective self-repair and ineffective self-repair according to whether the purpose of repair is achieved or not.Through the analysis of the causes of self-repair,the author found that the main causes of self-repair are lack of language ability, interference of notes and insufficient self-monitoring.The reasons include the lack of Korean listening comprehension, the lack of vocabulary transformation ability, the confusion of notes symbols and writing, and the lack of self-monitoring.Thus,according to the reasons, the author proposed possible solutions to reduce self-repair from three aspects: improving language ability, strengthening note-taking practice and strengthening self-monitoring.
