Nowadays,English tests are regarded as an important method to help English teachers to know about how much students have mastered in English teaching and learning in senior high school.The test cycle is becoming shorter and shorter,and as a result,weekly tests,monthly tests,mid-term tests and so on appear during each term.Therefore,teachers put a lot of work in the test paper reviewing classes.But do teachers know whether their work achieve expected results?Based on the problem,a large quantity of researchers have done many researches and have achieved quite a lot of research findings to help teachers' teaching.However,the focus of the researchers is mostly on teachers' perspective and the criterion to test whether the strategies of teachers' feedback on SET is effective or not is students' test scores.Therefore,the author wants to find out whether,from the perspective of students,the strategies of teachers' feedback on school-based English tests(SET)are accepted by students.After all,students are the center in learning.In the research,school-based English tests involve the tests which are organized by school during teaching process instead of in the end of teaching process.After studying the principle of teachers' feedback,combining formative assessment and constructive theory,the author does a research on teachers' feedback on SET,and puts forward three research questions:1 What methods do English teachers adopt to offer feedback on SET?2 Are the methods of teachers' feedback on SET effective or not effective from the perspective of students?3 What factors influence the effectiveness of teachers' feedback on SET?The thesis mainly uses questionnaires,combining class observation,and the author has an interview with some students to get the data.The author mainly questions 24 teachers and 307 students from three grades in senior high school in Ji Tian high school.By analysing the data,the author discovers that teachers adopt quantities of methods to offer feedback on SET,such as,proper emphasis of important parts,praise to students,some strategies of solving the problems,some consolidation exercise and so on.From the aspect of students,teachers' feedback on SET has a big influence and positive influence is greater than negative influence.Such as,the positive influence is as follows:by teachers' feedback on SET,their English knowledge and skill have been improved;their enthusiasm about English learning has been boosted;their attitude toward English learning has been adjusted;their problems and shortcoming have been discovered so as to adjust their learning method and finally achieve their goals and so on.However,there are some deficiencies as well which influence the effectiveness of feedback on SET.It is common that teachers pay little attention to listening part though it has 30 scores.In this part,teachers mainly show answers without any guidance on listening strategies.It is clear from class observation that teachers talk more instead of combining teachers' talk and students' talk together,and there seems to be little self-assessment and peer assessment so students' dominant position in English learning does not come into play.In the end,based on the problems,the author comes up with some suggestions for teachers and some suggestions for students on how to maximize English teachers' feedback on SET.
