This paper, from the perspective of overall history and"looking at history from a local perspective",adopts the methods of history, historical geography and sociology to explore the relationship between the tradition of " chivalrous man"and the local society in northern Anhui from a multi-dimensional perspective. The first chapter analyzes the reasons why the culture of"chivalrous man"can be preserved, inherited and developed for a long time in northern Anhui from the perspectives of ecological changes and political environment. From the point of ecological change, the characters of the natural environment due to the presence of the Yellow River and Huai He river two blaspheme worsening,long-term disaster caused characters of ecological environment is fragile, low agricultural productivity, the survival pressure is great, people were forced to take the offensive survival strategy,to violent means to gain survival resources,"break prohibition by force"ranger become northern Anhui people object of worship. From the perspective of political environment, the long existence of the south of Huai He played a key role in protecting the survival of the errant warriors in the critical period of Han dynasty when the errant warriors tended to die out.Since the Han dynasty, the political and military control over the northern Anhui was weak, which formed a political environment suitable for the survival of rangers. The second chapter introduces the evolution of chivalrous man in northern Anhui in the order of time. The Guo Jie of Han dynasty marked the end of the age of the ranger, but the spirit and value orientation of the ranger were retained and passed on in other forms. In the Wei and Jin dynasties, the chivalrous spirit was combined with the local noble clans to form the local forces such as the"heroic right"and"clan thief",which started the process of the regionalization of the chivalrous culture, represented by the Cao family, the Xia Hou family, the Wu family and the Huan family in northern Anhui.During the Sui and Tang dynasties, the governance of northern Anhui was improved, and the chivalry was weak.In the song dynasty, the culture of daxing and the culture of chivalrous culture combined with the culture of Confucianism in northern Anhui changed the social atmosphere greatly. In the early Ming dynasty, chivalrous culture in northern Anhui was infused with the connotation of"loyalty",but from the middle and late Ming dynasty to the late Qing dynasty, with the sharp deterioration of the natural and social environment, rebellion and revolution became the two main streams of knight errant culture. The third chapter discusses the relationship between chivalrous man and the local society in northern Anhui.First of all,the combination of knight errant with clan and secret society has a profound impact on the local social order.Secondly,in the middle of the Qing dynasty, the appearance of folk villages led by knight errant led to the high militarization of the place, which led to the disintegration of the"temple"system. Finally, knight errant in northern Anhui challenged the state power by seizing the financial power and judicial power of the grassroots government. As a kind of cultural tradition,"knight errant"has not only influenced and changed the local society in northern Anhui, but more importantly, influenced and changed the ideology of ordinary people to form local identity. The fourth chapter discusses that the chivalry in northern Anhui often imitates the style of chivalry, which leads to the worship of violence and the formation of martial arts tradition. In addition,by the end of the Qing dynasty, the people of Anhui had a strong cultural consciousness of the martial arts in the history of northern Anhui and had a sense of constructing their own revolutionary tradition.Chapter v deals in a general way with the issues not covered but necessary in the first four chapters. On the one hand, chivalrous man and catch are both derived from ancient samurai, and their spiritual attributes and value orientation are consistent. The swordsman in this article is actually the unity of the swordsman and the state. On the other hand, chivalrous man is a social group full of contradictions, which can not only violate the ban by force, but also pacify the rebellion. The boundary between soldiers and bandits is not clear, but can be transformed into each other.
