Smartphones have become an indispensable part of people's lives. The interruptions caused by smartphones have also entered and have largely changed the way people live.A large amount of information, such as notifications, reminders, and pushes generated by the smartphone, attracts the user's attention and enhances the user's perception through visual stimuli or auditory stimuli. However, with the advent of the information age, such external interruptions frequently invade people's lives, work and studying. The cumbersome information seriously interferes with the tasks currently performed by users, resulting in interruption of tasks, quality and efficiency of task completion, and even It will affect the user's emotions and cause negative emotions such as annoyance and stress. In addition,in the process of interaction with the smartphone, the user not only has to deal with external interruptions, but also develops self-interruptions.This kind of multi-task management behavior that actively maintains interaction with the smartphone is almost as frequent as external interruptions, and even shows a situation that is difficult for the user to control.Although the self-interruption is so frequent,it also has a great impact on users. In the existing research, how the user's attention and annoyance are affected by external interruptions and self-interruptions,have not been studied thoroughly. This research aims to study the influence of external stimuli on the attention and annoyance of users who have self-interruptions in the interactive interface.By selecting peripheral visual stimuli of external stimuli and individual dispositions affecting self-interruption,including self-awareness,polychronicity and reliance on mobile phone, this research conducted a three-week mixed experiment with 29 participants.Pre-experimental questionnaires, log studies, and retrospective assessments were conducted. The pre-experimental questionnaire survey mainly examined the individual dispositions of the users;the log study lasted for two weeks. We collected the mobile phone usage data and self-interruption data of the user's first week as the research baseline, and collected the mobile phone with the peripheral visual stimuli as the experimental independent variable for the second week.Usage data,self-interruption data, external interruption data and evaluation;retrospective assessments provide insight into the reasons behind the log research data. The results show that self-awareness,reliance on mobile phone and attention distribution are significantly negatively correlated when self-interruption occurs, and when external interruptions occur, polychronicity replaces self-awareness and reliance in mobile phone and attention distribution show a significant positive correlation. Moreover, under the scenario of external interruptions and self-interruptions,annoyance is significantly negatively correlated with self-awareness and reliance on mobile phoneAccording to the experimental results, this research proposes a multi-task interaction model that helps the system and the user to cooperate with each other in the context of interaction between external interruption and self-interruption,and applies this multi-task interaction model to the design practice of intelligent application called 'Reading Guide',helping users to management attention while optimizing the user experience.
