In the past decade,more and more Chinese students have been studying abroad.In recent years,with the gradual improvement of economic level,the best choice for most international students is the United States.Many years ago,studying abroad was a kind of elite education,but with the spread of "studying abroad",modern society's attitude towards the development of international students has changed."Overseas students" and "overseas returnees" used to be represented high-end intellectual talents,but in the modern society,there are a lot of prejudices against overseas students in order to focus on the topic " studying in the United States",my original intenstion is record all sides of Chinese students,including life styles,social communication and study,starting with details,representing the new era "overseas students" from mutiple perspectives.During six months of visiting United States,I touched with plenty of Chinese students,in the process of talking with them,I found that during the period of study abroad than study in domestic students more rich life experiences,also at the time of graduation will face more challenges and difficulties,such as graduation return home or graduate this choice to stay in the United States;When they left the protection of their parents and went to another strange country,how did they take the pressure and turn it into motivation to study in a foreign country when they were young? In the face of different language,cultural background of the problem is how to slowly adapt to the growth and so on.My work apply the objective,documentary shooting method,through the form of following shoot and interview,around the heroine – Wang jingru,who is studying in the school of journalism,university of Missouri,interviews these topics,and tells her story of studying abroad by recording her life in the United States bit by bit.At the same time,I also want to change the stereotype of overseas students in China by reflecting the current life status and psychological and emotional changes of overseas students in the United States through her story.
