In northwest China,most of the ancient memories of the Spring Festival are related to Shehuo,in addition to celebrating the Spring festival,the Shehuo of the streets is more important to express the farmers' vision of good weather in the coming year through a series of activities to thank the gods and ghosts.Up to this day,Shehuo is still popular in rural areas,but gradually faded the once "superstitious" veil and become more of a cultural entertainment.And the ancient affection and emotional sustenance contained in the Shehuo,will probably be slowly dispelled with the advance of time.This documentary is mainly shot in Qiaojiaying village,which is 30 kilometers away from Lanzhou,Capital of Gansu Province,and records the process of recovering the memory of Shehuo after 28 years.Old people who once played Shehuo have now become the elderly,began to train a new generation of Shehuo actors,and the village can hear the TaiPingGu coming out of the training ground every day.However,behind the prosperity is the reality of the overall demolition and resettlement here.Within a few years,Qiaojiaying will no longer exist,and the villagers here will move into the new buildings and start a new life.The revival of Shehuo,lively Spring Festival,and the uncertain future of the home...All kinds of emotions will be demonstrated in this documentary,and to make a real record through the simple life of the villagers left in the moderm folk beliefs,country affections.
