A Study On Relegation Poetry In Lingnan Of Tang Dynasty

Relegated literature is a literary phenomenon accompanied by scholars' demotion of officials.It has a long history in China,which can be traced back to Qu Yuan's LI SAO and JIU ZHANG.In the Tang dynasty,relegation became the main way to punish officials.Lingnan,far from the imperial capital,became the chief place of relegation,receiving more officials than any other region.Lingnan was located at the frontier of the Tang empire,on the verge of the sea.Before the Tang dynasty,Lingnan area was underdeveloped in culture and education.Since the founding of the Tang dynasty,a large number of exiled officials came to Lingnan,bringing the advanced culture and thought of the central China.Lingnan is a strange place for derogatory officials.The natural environment and cultural environment in Lingnan are quite different from those in central China.In their opinion,Lingnan region has a poor natural environment,few inhabitants and backward culture,and they suffer from both physical and mental suffering.The poetry of relegated scholars in the early Tang dynasty shows strong personal feelings in relegated poems,and the lyricism in poems is strengthened.In the middle Tang dynasty,Han Yu had realized that his experience of relegation had a positive effect on his poetic creation.In the early Tang dynasty,scholars show the hope of come back home to emissaries who went to the north in the farewell poems.The moral intercourse between Liu Zongyuan and Liu Yuxi in the middle Tang dynasty revealed the real feelings of exiled scholars.Liu Zongyuan and Liu Yuxi not only the official career experience is similar,two people are personal friends.After again demote Lingnan two people association more closely and in the poem appears the rare life interest.On the way of demotion,the officials hurried all the way and felt depressed.They had no interest in touring the mountains and rivers in Lingnan.However,after they settled down in a derelict place,they alleviated the depression of living in a derelict place and thought of returning to the north by visiting Lingnan mountains and rivers.Because the integratation of the Lingnan,the early Tang dynasty poets such as Du Shenyan,Shen Quanqi,Song Zhiwen,Zhang Yue the perspective of describing poems from court feast to Lingnan landscape,poetry theme and content are widened.In the middle tang dynasty,the demoted officials were more active in running the local government after taking office.They took the initiative to understand the local customs and conditions in Lingnan and recorded them in poems.The scholars who were exiled to Lingnan experienced the process from the strong cultural circle to the weak cultural circle.The Tang dynasty is a country of poetry,people use poetry to express their inner world.Combining with the knowledge and feelings of exiled scholars in their life in the exiled land,they describe Lingnan in an all-round way from three aspects: their own mentality,literary contacts and local scenery.This process was also the discovery of Lingnan by scholars in the Tang dynasty.
