A Narrative Study Of Chen Sicheng’s Films

Chen Sicheng is a young director with iconic significance in Chinese cinema in recent years.In particular,his series of DETECTIVE CHINATOWN works to re-upgrade and redefine the "type" of comedy to a certain extent,realizing a new exploration of the structure of "comedy + detective".This article takes Chen Sicheng ’s "DETECTIVE CHINATOWN " series of works as a reference,and comprehensively uses film narrative,art psychology,film and television aesthetics,film semiotics and other film theories to explore the narrative strategy of director Chen Sicheng.Tang’s series of works include the funny comedy of traditional comedy,the fun of game-like fun,the entertainment effect of singularity,the strict layout of reasoning,the suspense setting of suspicion,and the theme of people’s hearts.These narrative clues break the narrative concept of traditional drama,and the hilarity,suspense,movement,and ethics are mixed,forming a multi-line parallel narrative pattern.The magnificent and exotic space is the narrative scene,with the character of the small character as the character model,with the wonderful layered structure as the narrative way,embedding the cultural elements in the game experience of level-by-level,observing reality and exploring the depth of humanity and philosophy.The level of connotation,this series of features constitutes the unique artistic expression of the film directed by Chen Sicheng.This thesis studies the narrative strategy from the perspectives of role,time and space,structure and theme.It is not only the author’s in-depth study and consideration of narrative theory based on film and television text,but also conducive to enriching and developing the complete theory of narratology.Perfect;at the same time,it fills the gap in the study of domestic comedy detective works,and has a certain theoretical significance for the industrialization of comedy-seeking movies.
