As an important examination subject in the senior high school entrance examination and college entrance examination,English is one of the important components of high school subject teaching, which can directly affect the student's academic performance and entrance results.Language can still transmit certain information without the support of the grammar framework, but no information can be transmitted without the support of vocabulary. This shows that vocabulary is very important for language learning. However, under the pressure of huge entrance examination, students spend a lot of time on traditional word memory learning, which is time-consuming and inefficient.Improving the learner's English vocabulary learning level from the multimodal perspective is an active attempt to promote students' learning methods and teacher teaching reform.Based on the analysis of relevant papers and books on multimodal theory and English vocabulary teaching at home and abroad, the author proposes the following three research questions: 1)What is the current status of vocabulary learning habits among high school students? 2)From the perspective of multi-modal learning, applying BaiCiZhan to vocabulary learning, from the four dimensions of lexical spelling,form-to-speech connection, listening to the meaning, and meaning association,do the student's long-term memory effect and short-term memory effect have advantages over those by the traditional book vocabulary learning method? 3)From the perspective of multimodal learning, does apply BaiCiZhan to vocabulary learning have different effects on different levels of students? Which students will be significantly affected by?The author conducts research via the quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methods. The experimental period is 8 weeks;before the experiment, the final semester test is conducted and the vocabulary comprehensive knowledge test is conducted for the two classes to ensure that the vocabulary levels of the two classes are roughly equal.According to the ranking of the results, the students in the experimental class are roughly divided into three levels.By comparing the range of advancement of the scores of the students at different levels before and after, the comparison of the changes of the students at different levels is carried out.At the same time,a questionnaire survey is conducted. In the experiment,a short-term vocabulary memory test is conducted on the experimental and control classes every week for a total of 8 times to examine the impact on short-term vocabulary memory levels. At the end of the experiment, the long-term memory test of the vocabulary is conducted simultaneously in the experimental class and the control class, and questionnaires and interviews are conducted separately for the experimental class, which aims to understand the students' attitudes towards different learning modes and the problems found during the experiment. The results showed that: 1)At present, most Chinese high school students are relatively weak in vocabulary learning ability. They do not have strong motivation to learn. Most students need to be stimulated by the outside world to maintain certain motivation.2)In the multimodal perspective, and using BaiCiZhan to learn vocabulary, students have significant advantages in long-term memory effects and short-term memory effects in four dimensions: lexical spelling, linguistic connection, listening syllabus, and semantic association, compared to those by the traditional book vocabulary learning.3)In the multimodal perspective, and using BaiCiZhan to learn vocabulary, students with different learning levels have improved their vocabulary learning;the vocabulary level of students with lower learning levels is significantly higher;students with higher levels of learning have lower vocabulary levels improved.
