With the rapid development of tourism, tourism translation is becoming increasingly important to the tourist market.Tourism texts fall into the category of applied texts, which determines that tourism translation cannot always be true to the original texts.Reception Aesthetic Theory can be used as a guide theory for the translation of applied texts like tourism texts.Making a case study of Brochure of Tourist Destinations at Jinzhai County, this report takes foreign tourists as translation readers under the guidance of Reception Aesthetic Theory.Careful consideration is given to translation readers during the translation process, which mainly consists of culture background and aesthetic experience. The report exemplifies the feasibility of several translation methods by analyzing some specific examples. Methods for translation of Chinese scenic spots introduction are of two types. On the one hand, careful consideration about culture background is offered to translation readers during the process of cultural-loaded words translation. Therefore, the report proves such translation methods as literal translation with annotations, paraphrases and substitutions. On the other hand, careful consideration about aesthetic experience is provided for translation readers during the process of translation of scenery description. Thus the report uses the method of changing “artistic conceptions” in the original texts into “actual concretes”,which refer to specific scenic spots tourists can see.The report also proposes the method of simplifying by translating the main ideas of quotations in a condensed way. This report aims at providing suggestions for translators of such texts.
