With the vigorous development of China's tourism industry,studies on tourism translation have received more and more attention in the translation field.Henan is the province with the most abundant tourism resources in the Central Plains and countless tourists come here for sightseeing every year.As a direct means of external promotion of tourism resources,the importance of tourism texts translation is self-evident.It not only helps to introduce tourism resources,but also promotes the interactive communication between Chinese and Western cultures.Reception Aesthetics is a typical theory of literary criticism.It has got rid of the traditional translation mode with text as the core,emphasizing readers' subjectivity and initiative in the translation process.The birth of Reception Aesthetics Theory has aroused great attention in the translation field,providing a unique theoretical perspective for translation studies.In addition,it has profound guiding significance for the translation practice of both literature works and practical translation.From the perspective of Reception Aesthetics Theory,this thesis takes Henan tourism texts translation as research object,analyzes how to improve the quality of tourism translation and summarizes translation methods.This research mainly focuses on the three core concepts of Reception Aesthetics Theory: firstly,it analyzes how to reflect readers' central position from the perspective of cultural-loaded words and readers' affective preference.Secondly,it discusses how to meet target readers' horizon of expectation in terms of language structure,language habit and cultural background.Finally,the application of indeterminacy in the tourism text translation is also discussed.Through the research,it is found that,first of all,the quality of Henan tourism text translation needs to be improved,because various spelling mistakes,disunity of names,Chinglish and cultural errors are endless.Secondly,in translation activities,more attention should be paid to readers' central position and the professional competence of translators.Finally,based on Reception Aesthetic Theory,translators need to adopt flexible translation methods: for sake of target readers' horizon of expectations,omission and analogy can be adopted to shorten the aesthetic distance and provide target readers with enjoyable reading experience.When it comes to the translation of culture-loaded words,translation methods such as addition,transliteration and interpretation can be used to expand the knowledge background of the target language readers and spread Chinese unique culture.It is a beneficial attempt to explore tourism texts translation from the perspective of Reception Aesthetics Theory,aiming to improve the quality and acceptance of Henan tourism texts translation.At the same time,it is sincerely hoped that this research can be used for reference in future translation practice.
