From Anti-essentialism To Public Interpretation:Two Main Reflection Paradigms Of Current Chinese Literary Theory

At present,the study of literary theory with "reflection" as its core mark is a great sight.The specific achievements of literature theory reflection from different perspectives,with different paths and methods are quite abundant.This thesis mainly attempts to study the theoretical topics of anti-essentialism,imposed interpretation,ontological interpretation and public interpretation,which are quite reflective and influential at present,from the overall perspective of the paradigm of reflection.This thesis constructs the main anti-essentialism paradigm and the public interpretation paradigm of anti-imposed interpretation from the perspective of the overall paradigm,studies the relationship and context of the two paradigms,and points out that there is a "complementary" relationship between different presuppositions of the basic problems of disciplines in the tension of the paradigm.The tension of these paradigms provide a possibility of self-revision in a dialogical way,and also leaves space for further reflection.The thesis consists of "introduction","main text" and "epilogue".The introduction part points out that the knowledge production of literary theory has formed a special field full of internal tension.The "reflection" discourse of literary theory constitutes a general discourse relevance.This thesis reviews the study results of reflective literary theory,especially those related to anti-essentialism,imposed interpretation,ontological interpretation and public interpretation,and clarifies the significance and value of the topic selection,as well as ideas and methods of study.The first chapter mainly constructs two main paradigms of reflection: anti-essentialism paradigm and the anti-imposed interpretation—public interpretation paradigm.Firstly,from the object and purpose of reflection,this thesis briefly combs their respective theoretical origins,further clarifies the core meaning of their respective theoretical paradigms,and then describes the practical path of their respective theoretical paradigms.The aim is to construct a paradigm relationship between their theoretical essentials and relevant practice paths in macro-level,thus entering the perspective of a holistic theoretical paradigm.The second chapter mainly studies the relationship between the two paradigms of reflection.In the theoretical discourse power confrontation,the intricate relationship between the two paradigms of reflection on related issues is revealed more accurately.From the confrontation between anti-essentialism and "imposed interpretation" on the topics of imposed use of those which are out of literary field theories and subjective presupposition,the controversy between anti-essentialism and public interpretation on the topics of individual and public interpretation,rationality and irrationality of hermeneutics,to show the antagonistic relationship between the two paradigms of reflection as a whole.The third chapter mainly chooses two perspectives of globalization and post-modern to present the context of two kinds of reflection paradigms.Globalization and modernization of social life lead to double "aphasia" anxiety of culture and theory,reflecting on specific topic of "dispute between China and the West" in combination with two paradigms,while the post-modern popular cultural context reveals the enlightening purpose of reflection and then we explores the practical dilemma of publicity in this context.The forth chapter mainly reflect the problem of present anti-essentialism paradigm and reveals the inherent contradiction between imposed interpretation and public interpretation,and points out that the tension between paradigms is a coexistence of confrontation and dialogue.This tension presents different approaches for literary theory to inquire into basic questions,different approaches undertake different functions of reflection,and leaves space for new reflection.The real meaning of reflection is to get out of self-centeredness,which requires different paradigms to mirror each other,recognize the lack of theory and constantly revise.The concluding part further summarizes the Enlightenment of reflective literary theory,recognizes the significance and limitations of them,and points out that reflection need from level of "knowledge" to "Tao",which is the proper meaning of reflection itself.Reflection is not confined to the field of literature.People's literature and literary theory both need the spirit of reflection.
