A Study Of Hua Yan's "Elegant Gathering In The Western Garden"

In the Northern Song Dynasty,an gathering in Western Garden was an famous art salon integrating literature,calligraphy,painting,music and so on.It brought the literati gathering to the summit and exerted a great influence on later generations.Through the ages,the painters and the collectors have jointly constructed the cultures of the Elegant Gathering in Western Garden.Yan Hua who is from Qing Dynasty had been painted the gathering in Western Garden many times.Now we can see Yan Hua's four this kind of paintings,from which we can see the Yan Hua's figure painting technique and artistic style.The thesis analyses the cultural inheritance and structure problems of this gathering.By studying the Yan Hua's four paintings and using the methods of case analysis and image contrast,the thesis try to obtain the following results:First,the thesis analysis and summaries the cultural inheritance and construction of this gathering in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.Second,the thesis tries to summary Yan Hua's style of figure paintings and his inheritance of teachings.Finally,the thesis investigates one of Yan Hua's four works about the gathering in Western Garden in Fujian Museum.
