English writing,as a language output skill,like other three skills(listening,speaking and reading),is an important part of learning English.Writing is a comprehensive use of English by students.It can test students' overall mastery of English from a certain level.In recent years,the teaching level of English writing in senior high schools in China has been improved,but the extent of improvement is not optimistic,and it is still guaranteed.With the outdated English writing teaching mode,students have a psychological conflict with writing.In this way,the low output level directly affects the input level,thus affecting the overall English learning.Based on the above situation,this study,from the perspective of Memetics,attempts to study the influence of Memetics-based English writing teaching in senior high schools on senior high school English writing,and to develop an effective teaching model based on Memetics.The thinking of Dawkins' creative Memetics originates from Darwin's theory of evolution.Dawkins believes that similar genetic units exist in human culture,namely meme,in the same gene.In a broad sense,meme can be referred to as the information units duplicated by the process of "imitation",but the imitation in language meme does not only refers to the complete imitation of genotype.On this basis,the new meme accepted in the process of imitation is refined and recombined to form the new meme that the host wants to express.There are four stages in the transmission of meme: assimilation,maintenance,expression and dissemination.These four stages improve the process of English writing teaching in senior high schools,complement the lack of input to students' writing in traditional English writing classes,emphasize the importance of teachers' evaluation in the process of output,increase students' mutual evaluation,and strive to create a new English writing class in senior high schools.This study attempts to test two questions: Can senior high school students improve their writing ability under the guidance of Memetics? Can the teaching of English writing in Senior High Schools under the guidance of Memetics arouse students' enthusiasm for writing?This study is aimed at two parallel classes of senior three in a key senior highschool in Harbin.Each class has 50 students.Taking one class as the experimental class and the four stages of the two-cycle language meme communication as the reference,this study builds an efficient input link from the multiple perspectives of words,sentences and texts in the assimilation stage.At the maintenance stage,it designs rich and interesting interactive question-and-answer links and games.Links to enable students to effectively memorize new meme over a long period of time;in the expression stage,teachers should set up writing topics similar to the materials learned in this lesson,but not exactly the same.Teachers should also remind students to use words and sentences imitated in the assimilation stage to create;in the communication stage,teachers need to grade and correct students' compositions;The innovation of this study is to add cycle stage after four stages.In the cycle stage,students should correct teachers' compositions.After revision,the new meme are sorted out and handed over to the teachers in groups.The teachers select excellent works and show them to the students for a new round of dissemination.After the second dissemination,the peers in groups revise their compositions again.The purpose of adding cycle stage is to expand students' meme scope and consolidate new memes.The writing class in the control class is consistent with that before the experiment.The experiment lasted for three months.After the experiment,the scores of the compositions before and after the experiment were analyzed by SPSS.The teaching of English writing in senior high schools based on Memetics can greatly improve the students' writing level.According to the questionnaire data before and after the experiment,we found that the teaching of English writing based on Memetics can improve the students' enthusiasm for English writing.
