The term “meme” is put forward by the British biologist Richard Dawkins who has created the memetics on the basis of the Neo-Darwin’s theory. The memes are the replicators of culture so as to ensure the transmission, inheritance, development of culture in cultural evolution process. Since the memetics comes into being, many scholars have carried on the researches on the most important and essential linguistic phenomena from the perspective of the memetics. As a result, the language memes and translation memes emerge later. The author of the thesis applies the memetics to identify legal memes and to research the translation methods of the memes. The author of the paper takes the TRIPS as an example to make a descriptive analysis with charts and diagrams in order to explore how to identify the legal memes, how to translate those memes properly and accurately, as well as how to facilitate the memes of translation to be the norms of translation. In addition, the author of the thesis discusses some important notions of memes, the replication and transmission methods of memes, the life circle of memes and the memes of translation to the norms of translation. Through the comprehensive analysis on the TRIPS, the author recognizes that the study on the legal translation in the perspective of memetics will enrich the translation theory.
