A Study Of Anthony Brown's Picture Books From The Perspective Of Image Narration

In accordance with Erwin Panofsky's Iconography principle,with narratology as a research reference,the paper examines the image nnarrative mode,perspective,structure,organization,skills and style of Anthony Brown's picture books from the perspective of image narrative.The first chapter is an overview of the background,purpose,content,methods and steps of the research.The second chapter discusses the graphic narrative mode of Anthony brown's picture books.Image narration is mainly divided into static imag-e narration and dynamic image narration,single image narration and seri-al image narration.As the research object of picture books,we discuss static image narration and serial image narration.The third chapter of the thesis starts from the perspective of image narration,and studies the image narration of Anthony brown's picture books from the perspective of omniscience,limited knowledge and compound perspective.The first section of this chapter deals with the omniscient perspective.Omniscient perspective in image narration refers to a farsighted observation point adopted by image creators for the story narrated.It is a narrative mode generally adopted in traditional narrative works.In the second part,from the perspective of limited knowledge,the image creators' participation in picture book stories is actually the image authors' exploration and reflection on existence and self.The third part is the compound perspective,which is called the compound perspective.In chapte four discusses linear narrative and nonlinear narrative from the perspective of image narrative structure.Due to different levels of cognition and comprehension,linear narrative structure and non-linear narrative structure are used differently in picture book creation.In chapter five,the author expounds the image narration of Anthony brown's picture books from the aspects of the implementation mode of image narration and the value of picture book's components in picture book's image narration.In chapter six analyzes the basic elements of image narration in Anthony brown's picture books.Graphic elements,themes,characters,environment,body movements and perspectives constitute the basic elements of image narration.The techniques of image narration in Anthony brown's picture books mainly include being good at using graphic metaphor for image narration,appropriately using facial expression and body movements of characters for image narration,and creating appropriate scenes for image narration in picture books.In chapter senven analyzesr mainly the narrative style and causes of Anthony brown's picture books.Anthony brown combined the form of surrealism painting with the theme of daily life,revealing simple and profound truth with dreamlike and humorous pictures.It has a typical surrealistic style.
