Influenced by Yuan Dynasty's education policy, social ethos and family background,Yang Weizhen's knowledge structure was based on Zhu Xi's Science.During his late period of life,Yang Weizhen behaved like a Taoist,so he was misunderstood by public. In fact, according to Confucian orthodoxy, the leading factor of schools,Yang Weizhen was a Confucian scholar all the time.Hence, his Poetics theory could be re-written.Tie-Ya Poetry School was named based on the aim of his poetry, and Tie-Ya was originated from The Spring and Autumn Annals-The Book of Songs. His poetry aims could be divided into 2 parts. One part is that poetries were based on nature and feelings. The other part is that he preferred Ancient Yuefu to other forms of poetry. The nature and feelings of his theory was explained on readers, authors and Poetry collectors' perspective. And the theory was put forward to restructure the social order. Moreover, the Yang Weizhen's definition of Ancient Yuefu was made through selecting Poem title and poetic styles. And based on this definition,Yang Weizhen's Concepts of Ancient Yuefu was formed. He focused on the Poem title and poetic styles selecting, and stressed on the usage of ancient rhyme as well.Furthermore,he thought the poem should be related to the music.Above all, these concepts were affected by Zhu Xi's Science. It is easy to conclude that the works of members of Tie-Ya School didn't conform to Tie-Ya theory. However, the motives of Yang Weizhen's behavior could be explored.Tie-Ya Poetry School should be regarded as not a literature event but a social event.Firstly,it was a reaction to the poetry debate occurred in his young age.Secondly,he wanted to improve the status of Jinhua Zhu's Science to promote himself.Last but not the least,it was a strategy that Yang Weizhen applied not only to honor the king and drive off the barbarians but also protect himself in the war time.
