The socialization of social life and the globalization of economic trade have placed increasing demands on our English proficiency.Mastering the language of English has become an indispensable skill in our life,communication and learning.English learning and mastery need to start from basic education.As one of the compulsory courses for junior high school students,English is a prerequisite for their further study.However,due to the relative backwardness of the rural economy and the relatively occluded thinking,students and parents have not attached great importance to English learning.The English teachers and infrastructure of the school are also weak.These have led to poor general English performance of rural junior high school students.Affecting the development of rural children's life,it also affects the further improvement of the quality of rural compulsory education.In order to improve the quality of English teaching in rural junior high schools effectively,this paper carried out a survey of English learning status of junior high school students in A town of Henan.This study used questionnaires and interviews to conduct in-depth investigations of teachers and students.Among them,the student questionnaire is divided into six aspects: English learning scores,English learning interest,English self-learning,teacher teaching,family care and campus environment.The teacher questionnaire is statistically analyzed from three aspects: personal situation,teaching method and home-school communication.The interview records were compiled and summarized,and the current situation of English teaching for junior high school students was preliminarily grasped.Through the above questionnaires and interviews,it is found that the current junior middle school English teaching in A town of Henan Province faces some difficulties,mainly in the following four aspects: poor academic performance in English,weak English learning interest,general lack of independent learning ability,and the low teaching level of teachers.There are four main reasons for these situations: in terms of students,the weak performance in English,lack of motivation,poor learning attitude,lack of learning awareness,lack of learning methods,and poor self-regulation.In terms of teachers,the performance is that the teachers are very weak,the teaching concept is difficult to change,the role orientation is not accurate,the teaching techniques are backward,and the ability and quality are still to be improved.In terms of school,the performance is not deep enough,the evaluation mechanism is not perfect,the education is not in place,and the infrastructure is not perfect.In terms of families,the performance is a serious lack of care and care,and students are not paying enough attention to the study.The phenomenon of left-behind students is widespread,and students lack adolescent family education.Aiming at the many difficulties and internal causes of rural junior middle school English teaching,this paper proposes four solutions: one is to strengthen students' English learning consciousness,cultivate students' interest in English learning,and guide students to master English learning methods;Knowledge learning,enhance English teaching ability;Third,strengthen the school's educational investment in English teaching,strengthen teacher training,and promote English teaching reform in depth;Fourth,enhance the family's material support and emotional communication with children,and enhance parents' English learning for their children.Pay attention to the degree.I hope that I can improve my students' English performance,improve the rate of enrollment,and reverse the long-term backwardness of rural junior high school and the serious loss of students.
