Hieronymus Bosch(1450-1516)is a well-known humanist artist in the history of the Renaissance in the Nordland region.With his keen and deeply-rooted mundane thinking as well as the Gothic imagination and expressive force,he showed the schema of occultism,astrology,alchemy,Niderland fables and so on,and constructed a grand magical religious world with humanistic spirit.This paper takes dual vision of Bosch's painting as the main research object,mainly uses the research method in combination of literature research,picture demonstration and image analysis,and analyze Bosch's painting through the analysis of his lifetime of painting and the dual vision origin as well as classification of painting theme,Bosch's style and influence.Then from the two aspects of religious spirit and humanism,this paper analyzes the dual vision of Bosch's painting,thus revealing that the duality of Bosch's painting vision is mainly reflected in:the combination of religious concern and humanism in Bosch's painting,which has characteristics both in Middle Ages and Revival of Literature.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part sorts out Bosch's lifetime and discusses the origin of dual vision.The second part analyzes the theme of Bosch's painting by using the method of image analysis,and divides his painting into three categories:moral suasion,satirical imagination and metaphorical reality.The third part is very significant,which mainly studies the dual vision in Bosch's painting.First of all,this paper takes the mysticism full of implied meanings in Bosch's painting as the pointcut,and analyzes that Bosch's mysticism schema mainly comes from religious mysticism,alchemy and other mysticism.Then,it demonstrates the humanistic concern and religious concern under the contradictory religious expression in Bosch's painting,and selects three schemata of The Garden of Ea rthly Delights to prove the humanistic core hidden under the appearance of Bosch's religious painting.At last but not least,the fourth part discusses the style of his painting and its profound influence under the dual vision of Bosch painting.
