As an effective method of book layout design,grid design plays an important role in book layout design due to its characteristics of systematization and clarity.In addition to maintaining the overall order,grid design will also create some dynamic visuals on the page,enabling layout changes to possess richer and better visual beauty.Therefore,this paper mainly discusses how to realize the control of book layout design with rational logic,and produce visual beauty while dealing with grid design-the metaphorical layout design method.The practicality and convenience represented by grid design are the particularly important characteristics in book design practice.As one of the important layout design methods,grid design plays an important role in building the book layout design framework,no matter which kind of structural form grid design presents itself in book layout design.Grid design includes both layers from the inside out and design melody of constant changes so as to realize overall coordination of book layout design,by which,it not only meets the visual beauty of design,but also facilitates readers' reading and acquisition of information content,and creates the relaxed reading experience for readers.This paper combines case-based analysis method with self design practice to study the characteristics of grid design.The results have proved that grid design can not only rationally control the book layout design,but also realize a more flexible artistic creation under the premise of rational control so as to create visual beauty of layout,which provides a powerful design approach for the innovation of book layout design.
