Text Writing:The Study Of The Prostitutes' Images In The Tang Dynasty

The group status of prostitutes in Tang Dynasty was low,sometimes accompanied by sex waiters,but mainly entertained people by entertainment.Through unearthed documents(epitaphs)and handed down documents(notebook novels of Tang and Five Dynasties and historical works),this paper studies the groups of prostitutes,and analyses the characteristics of prostitutes'images in different texts and how text writing affects the construction of prostitutes'images.In the unearthed documents,the author takes the epitaphs of 22 prostitutes in Tang Dynasty as an example to analyze the family background,role characteristics and family image of prostitutes.Analyzes the case of Wang Tai-zhen,the author reveals the possibility of prostitutes as wives in the epitaph texts.Prostitutes enter male families by means of sex and music art.As prostitutes give birth to their offspring,their identity changes to the mother of the family neutrons,which virtually completes the transformation of their identity,the transformation of their identity image or the improvement of their status in the family.Through contacts with relatives and his husband's family and changes in their contacts,the image of prostitutes is also presented in different ways.It is worth noting that the writers of epitaphs are mostly the husbands of prostitutes.Influenced by their "private"feelings,the prostitutes in epitaphs are often good positive images.As for the handed down literature,the author analyzed the image of prostitutes with notebook novels of Tang and Five Dynasties and historical works.One kind of stories in the notebook is about prostitutes in reality,which can be divided into family prostitutes and non-family prostitutes according to the marriage and love between prostitutes and scholars.The other kind of is the fictional images of the female prostitutes in the notebook novels.The different types of female prostitutes in the text narrative have different degrees of harm to men.The cultural connotation of the image of female prostitutes is the key to interpret the image of female prostitutes,and reveals the attitudes and concepts of Tang people towards female prostitutes.In addition,the historical works about Tang Dynasty,prostitutes were regarded as one of the criteria to measure the moral character of scholars bureaucrat.As a negative factor,prostitutes had a negative impact on scholars and government.The appearance of prostitutes in the handed down literature is precisely the image of female calamity.Finally,the author analyses the characteristics of the image construction of prostitutes in unearthed documents(epitaphs)and handed down documents(notebooks and historical works).The prostitutes written in handed down documents are usually good positive images,while the prostitutes written in handed down documents always present negative images.Writers'writing standpoint and the writing ideas of various texts affect the image building and construction of prostitutes.In brief,the writing purpose of any style is to persuade and achieve the purpose of enlightenment.In the analysis of the image of prostitutes,we should not only pay attention to the text,but also fully consider the writers'writing standpoint and concept,the relationship between the writers and the writers,the writers'subjectivity and other factors in the text,so as to comprehensively interpret the image of prostitutes.
