A Study On The Adverb "?" And Its Relevant Research

In modern Chinese,"?" has a strong ability of word formation,a high frequency of use and a wide range of uses.It has high research value.The meaning and usage of "?" as an adjective are well known,but the meaning and usage of " ? " as an adverb need to be further studied and explored.The main contents of this paper include the following three parts:Firstly,the meaning division and usage of adverb " ? " are investigated.According to Zhang Yisheng's classification criteria of Chinese adverbs,? can be divided into descriptive adverbs and restrictive adverbs.When used as descriptive adverbs,we can express the state,and when used as restrictive adverbs,we can express the degree and scope.Secondly,we investigate the asymmetric distribution of"?"and"?"when they are used as adverbs.According to the distribution law of"?"and"?",we can divide them into"????","????","????but asymmetric".The causes of asymmetric phenomena are semantics,pragmatics and cognition.Finally,we investigate the connection of"?"and"?"."??"is a word,not a phrase.When the adverb is used,it can express the meaning of shallow degree,few times or low frequency.When"?"is placed in front of an adjective or verb that begins with"?",it can indicate depth or scope.It can also form a fixed collocation,such as"????",it means"similar"or"no?deal".Or"???"means"no more than at most".
