An Investigation And Analisy Of The Use Of Media In Chinese Teaching At The Confucius Institute Of Traditional Chinese Medicine In London,UK

With China's rapid development and increasing international status,China's right to speak in the world is becoming more and more important.More foreigners are actively learning Chinese and are eager to learn more about Chinese culture.The Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine of London was established and officially opened on 25 February,2008.It is the first Confucius Institute in the world to feature Chinese medicine and Chinese language education in both and TCM health culture..In the process of volunteering as a Chinese teacher at the Confucius Institute,I found that most Chinese teachers use the medium of instruction during the class,there are many differences from the use of Chinese in China's classroom.So I use the convenience of volunteer status went deep into the first-line Chinese class(with prior consent from the school)for observation,and conducted a questionnaire survey and interviews with Chinese teachers of the Confucius Institute.We made a deep analyze and summarize of the survey of the results and the Chinese teachers of the Confucius Institute,and the problems that arise when using the medium of instruction and put forward their own views on these issues and provide solutions.We found that Chinese teachers in the Confucius Institute at TCM in London in the United Kingdom mainly have problems with the use of English as a medium of speech between the medium of instruction and the target language?the use of English as a medium of instruction and the timing of its use are not sufficient and the problem for use of English as a medium of instruction is too large.In response to these problems,we have proposed three feasible recommendations,that is use English as a medium of instruction as a medium of instruction as much as possible?use the advantage of maximizing the use of English as a medium of instruction is Chinese language teaching and use English as the medium of instruction and the timing of use scientifically.We hope that this research will inspire the use of media language by the Confucius Institute at TCM in London and the overseas Chinese language teacher,and provide some theoretical and practical assistance for the development of Chinese international education.
