Reproduction technology has always existed in the development of art,and the value of portrait painting has changed from the initial practical value as the main purpose to more subjective ideas of artists in the picture.The development of science and technology has not only changed the way of expression of painting,but also changed the relationship between art and the public.The idea of expressing artists' subjective ideas has become a deeper exploration of modern and contemporary art.Compared with the works of art before the era of image reproduction,artists pay more attention to the ontological value of painting.The relationship between art and life is getting closer and closer,which highlights its cultural value and theoretical value.Image has an impact on the creative ideas and means of artists.How artists are influenced by the era of image reproduction use image as their creative materials and use the technology brought by the era of image reproduction to complete their works? At the same time,the impact of image on portraiture makes artists rethink the value of portraiture,how to show the individual consciousness of artists in portraiture without recording as the main purpose,and how to use the formal language and image symbols in the picture to express the artist's thinking on self-value and social issues.Based on this,this paper discusses the change of form language in western portraiture in the era of image reproduction by analyzing the characteristics of structural elements and forms of contemporary portraiture in the era of image reproduction as well as the change of artist's subjective thinking.From this point of view,this paper studies the evolution of art in the era of image reproduction and the formal language and image symbols of portraiture as a whole.This paper is divided into six parts.The first chapter is the introduction of the thesis,which briefly explains the research background and current situation of the thesis.The second chapter mainly elaborates the connotation in the era of image reproduction.The third chapter mainly elaborates on how artists express individual thoughts in formal language in the era of image reproduction.The fourth chapter studies the image symbol of portrait portrait in the era of image reproduction.Chapter five discusses the extension of the language boundary of western portraiture in the era of image reproduction.Finally is the full text summary.
