Self-portrait is the reappearance of the artist's posture on the shelf playing a role in society.At the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century,the process of transformation of women's being watched and self-watching is also reflected in the process of self-portrait creation,especially in the few female artists,Suzanne Valadon is one of the most representative examples.The change of personality temperament in her self-portrait makes us re-examine it.The change of women's self-viewing portrait posture is also a manifestation of Valadon's social role and social status change.This thesis takes the self-portrait of French female artist Suzanne Valadon as the research object,based on the detailed historical data,and adopts the research method combining theory and works,trying to conduct a more in-depth study on the self-portrait of Valadon from the perspective of art sociology..The central task is to explore the process of changing the female self-consciousness from the appearance to the independent social identity in the context of the patriarchal self-image in different periods of Valadon.This thesis is divided into four parts.First,it outlines the life of the artist Valadon,then combs the history of women being watched,and analyzes the changes in women's social status in art works.Second,the image of Valadon by different male artists.Depicted to explore the true personality of Valadon and the social status of women in the male perspective;thirdly,divide the self-portrait of Valadon into three creative periods,and clarify the society through the analysis of the social roles of Valadon in different periods.The change of status;Fourth,through the contrast of the self-portrait creation of female artists in two different social classes,to explain the potential impact of social status on self-portrait creation.
