Content-based instruction(CBI)English Teaching in Higher Vocational Colleges emphasizes on the future occupational scenes as cognitive contexts,and enables students to acquire both the subject knowledge and the linguistic knowledge.The student-centered interactive teaching mode fully exerts the main role of students in teaching through interaction between students,students and teachers,and thus helps to improve the quality and effect of teaching.In the author's teaching observation,students lack interest in English learning,and the traditional one-way output teaching model makes classroom teaching less effective.Therefore,research on interactive teaching of CBI English has far reaching significance in English classroom teaching.The author chooses two sophomore classes majoring in leisure tourism in Z vocational college as the subjects of this research,and implement interactive teaching method in the course of Cruise Practical English.According to the established research problems and following the basic procedure of action research,this paper carries out a total of three rounds of action research and a total of five interactive measures have been implemented,which are based on the basic theories of foreign language interactive teaching and Constructivism.Through the whole process of action research,the author employs both classroom observation and interviews to analyze the effects of the measures taken in each round of action research,the results of which provide the basis for revising,adjusting and establishing a new round of action measures.Following are the main measures carried out in this study: setting questions,contextualized teaching based on the post of Cruise,group cooperative learning,the readjustment and adaptation of the teaching materials,etc.Through the above action research,it has been concluded that CBI teaching method can promote English classroom interaction in Higher Vocational College.Reflecting on the research process and results,the author proposes four suggestions for CBI Interactive English Teaching in higher vocational colleges,and particularly states that appropriate teaching materials are the guarantee of classroom interactive teaching.Thus,the author puts forward the idea of adapting and compiling textbooks by teachers,for which,the author proposes a solution.That is,compiling the interactive textbooks based on CBI for English teaching in higher vocational education combined with the interactive measures implemented in this study.
