With the acceleration of the process of global economic integration,international communication become more frequent.The communicative competence becomes one of the important indicators of talents.The current oral English teaching of vocational college cannot meet the demand of the market,thus the traditional teaching approach makes many students gradually lose interest in learning English.The phenomenon of "dumb English" is very popular among vocational students.Therefore,the author would adopt the interactive teaching mode to explore new mode fit for higher vocational oral English teaching actively and carry out a variety of classroom activities to improve the students' communicative competence and promote the students' career development as well.Interactive Teaching Model is based on social constructivism,interaction hypothesis and the notion of communicative competence.By means of cooperative learning mode and colorful classroom practice such as brain-storming activity,role-play,interview,debate,oral presentation and so on,interactive teaching mode changes the teacher-centered teaching mode,develops subjectivity,promotes cognitive interaction among teachers,students,teaching materials,class and classroom environment,aiming at improving the students' communicative competence and enhancing a sense of classroom interaction.The author does research on the students majoring in preschool education by adopting an empirical approach to analysis and evaluate oral English teaching of vocational college.The study aims to answer the following three questions:(1)Can the application of interactive teaching mode improve students' communicative competence effectively in vocational school?In which aspects?(2)Can the application of interactive teaching mode change the current situation of classroom teaching effectively?How?(3)How to construct more effective interactive teaching model of oral English teaching in vocational college?This study lasted four months,one class is comparative classes and the other is experimental classes.Before the experiment,questionnaire has been distributed to 99 students of both classes.During the study,teaching samples and classroom observation have been conducted to build the interactive teaching mode of oral English teaching.Oral tests have been taken before and after the experiment.The researcher has used SPSS 19.0 to do quantitative analysis statistics.At the same time,individual interviews have been carried for qualitative analysis.The research conclusions are as follows:(1)The interactive teaching mode can improve students' communicative competence in vocational school.Students of the experimental class have improved dramatically in four aspects like grammatical competence,sociolinguistic competence.discourse competence and communicative strategy.The accuracy and fluency have been achieved,so have the depth and width of the topics.(2)The interactive teaching mode has changed the current situation of classroom teaching effectively,creating student-centred classroom,enriching the classroom activities,arousing the students' interest and promoting class-participation in oral English learning as well.(3)By doing the research,the author has constructed more effective interactive teaching mode of oral English teaching of vocational college:topic-introduction——interactive strategy guidance——oral task designing——oral communication and performance——review and reflection.The significance lies in the following aspects:teachers should change their roles and create students-centred oral classes and attach importance to communication.At the same time,teachers are supposed to cultivate student's sense of strategy and promote interactions between teachers,students,teaching materials,class and classroom environment so as to improve students' communicative competence as well.
