A large number of lacquered wares were unearthed in the excavation of the burial pits of the Hanyangling Mausoleum. They have a very high archaeological and cultural relics research value, but due to the seriousness of these organic cultural relics, the field cleaning and protection has encountered great difficulties. In order to maximize the access to all the information contained in the site,16 lacquered ware ruins unearthed from the M3 burial pits were packaged and transported back to the laboratory for laboratory archaeology and protection methods. This paper conducts laboratory archaeology and protection for a representative No.6 lacquered ware ruins unearthed from the 16 package ruins, and carries out all-round excavation, cleaning, detection, analysis, protection and comprehensive records of the lacquered ware remains,in order to explore the methods and procedures for laboratory archaeological and conservation work in the ruins. The relics were finely cleaned by means of sub-regional cleaning, microscopic observation and all-round excavation. It was found that the relics mainly contained three large-scale ear cup relics in the Western Han Dynasty. The morphology, structure and composition of the lacquer ware were analyzed by ultra-depth microscope, scanning electron microscope, energy spectrometer,X-ray diffraction and other modern scientific instruments. The results show that there are two kinds of paint film structures left in the lacquered wares, and the characteristics of lacquer making are preliminarily studied. At the same time, record and control the environmental changes in the laboratory, and timely reinforce and soften according to the preservation condition of the lacquered wares, basically maintain the stability of the shape of the ear cup and the surface pigment, and explore the protection method of the lacquer ware from the Hanyangling Mausoleum. The recording method combining traditional means and modern technology is used to comprehensively record the process of laboratory archaeology, and obtain multi-angle information such as text, image and three-dimensional model.Through the laboratory archaeological and protection of the lacquer ware in the No.6 gypsum bag,the shortage of field archaeological excavation was made up,and the archaeological, scientific testing and cultural relics protection were merged, which provided a new idea and method for the excavation and cleanup of the vulnerable relics unearthed from Hanyangling Mausoleum.
