After the outbreak of the peasant uprising in the late Yuan period,the official army lacked battle effectiveness and was defeated because of corruption.In order to maintain the rule,Yuan Court allowed and encouraged to develop the army of landlord —Yibing.Thanks to the appreciation and promotion from the Yuan court,strict military discipline,the super talent of the commander and well-chosen development strategy,as one of the earliest “Yibing”,Chaqan-temür’s troop developed and strengthened quickly As the largest scale local army of the "Yibing" series,it contributed to the rule of Yuan Dynasty: it fought rebels with a brilliant record;it contributes to support the rule of the Yuan Dynasty;it beat Ming army for many times;it became the main force for supporting “Da Yuan”elementary and stabilizing the Northern Yuan Court.However,due to the social environment and the influence of the commander in chief(Chaqan-temür and K?ke-temür),it also had negative aspect on the rule of the Yuan Dynasty: the commander was arrogant and domineering;it involved in Civil war and political struggles in the Yuan Court;it failed to defend the court.So it accelerated the demise of the Yuan Dynasty.This paper takes the rise and fall of the Chaqan-temür’s troop as a clue,the paper focuses on the emerging background of "Yibing",the reasons for its growth and decline,and its positive aspect and negative aspect on the Yuan regime.
