A Study Of Simultaneous Interpreting Of Apple Fall's Event In 2016 Based On Translation Variation Theory

Apple Inc held its annual fall event to release its latest products on September 8^th,2016,and simultaneous interpreting was given by a number of media to meet the needs of the audience.This thesis takes the simultaneous interpreting of this conference as the research object,and selects the simultaneous interpreting of Phoenix and iQiyi as the research corpus to conduct text study under the guidance of the translation variation theory.The author finds that there are few theses about the study of simultaneous interpreting of Apple Fall's Event by searching CNKI,so it has certain research value.This thesis studies the simultaneous interpreting of Apple Fall's conference in2016 from the perspective of translation variation theory.The translation variation theory contains seven translation variation methods,including addition,omission,edition,narration,reduction and adaption.The author analyzes in detail the application of the three translation variation methods,addition,omission and adaption in the study of simultaneous interpreting.In the process of research,the author adopts case analysis to study the two simultaneous interpretations from the aspects of words and sentences under the guidance of the translation variation theory.This thesis analyzes the application of addition and omission in terms of technical terms and common words on lexical level,and makes a detailed analysis of the application of addition,omission and adaptation of short and long sentences on syntactic level.At the same time,the interpreters make some misinterpreting and pretermission mistakes during simultaneous interpreting.The author also mentions these mistakes in the study.It is impossible for interpreters to interpret word by word from the original text to target text due to various factors,such as too many professional words,the fast speed of speaker,cultural differences and so on.Instead,interpreters should make corresponding changes to meet the expectations of the audience.Therefore,translation variation is more suitable for simultaneous interpreting and more acceptable to the audience than full translation.Translation variation is more flexible than full translation for interpreters,so they are required to use properly translation variation methods in the process of simultaneous interpreting.
