Since the advent of video games,it has attracted much attention and caused many controversies. The negative news about video games often makes headlines in newspapers and magazines, stimulating people's nerves. In addition to the news that we often see, such as addiction to games, stealing bankcards from parents to play games, and violent events that cause injuries, there were news reports mentioning that someone who experienced failure in games would cause their illegal and criminal acts in reality,as well as the players in the game experience unpleasant cooperation so as to cause serious attack in reality. With the popularity of multiplayer competitive game modes, the emergence of these news has to attract our attention : the game as a form of entertainment, why does failure or unpleasant experience in the game lead to individual's attacks in reality? The reason for the above results is that in addition to individual attack traits, empathy levels, and the level of frustration experienced, whether different individual's attribution methods or different scenarios that cause failure in the game will also have an impact on our aggression. As a key factor in whether an individual can experience pleasure in the game,a competitive scenario is an integral part of many games. However, compared to the investigation of violence in video games, there are still many places worth investigating in the research on video game competition factors, such as the selection of games and the setting of experimental operations.According to the existing research on competitive video games,we have found that the experimental game materials with more or less violent factors. Therefore,in order to better explore the impact of competitive video games on individual's aggression, the assessment of the game materials and selection of video games that make sure the game we choose do not contain violence. In the experiment, the competition scenario is used to explore the impact of competition failure on the individual's aggression. The research mainly includes two parts: research one is based on attribution theory and frustration-aggression theory, and examines the impact of individual's attribution patterns on individual's aggression after game failure;research two is based on frustration-aggression theory and teamwork-related research.Exploring the impact of different failure scenarios on individual's aggression after the game failure. Before the formal experiment,pre-experiment is used for selecting a proper game for the experiment. In the first study,63 people were selected from the internal/external attribution group through the multi-dimensional and multi-attribute causality scale. The participants then fill out the game experience questionnaire and the attack traits questionnaire;conduct three rounds of competition with “teammates” and “opponents” to control the scenes of the game failures set by the participants;complete the guilty sentiment scale, the hostile state questionnaire, and complete the Competitive Reaction Time Task. The results showed that there was a significant difference in hostility between the two groups, and there was no significant difference in aggression;the individuals with external attribution had significantly higher hostility than those with internal attribution after experiencing game failure. In the second study,a total of 103 participants were enrolled in three groups—the self-failed group(34),the teammate-caused failure group(35),and the opponent-caused failure group(38).In the same study 1,the participants first filled out the game experience questionnaire and the attack trait questionnaire;and the "teammates" and "opponents" conducted three rounds of competition, manipulating the game failure scenarios formulated by the participants;filling in the frustration scale, the guilty sentiment scale, and hostility State the questionnaire and complete the Competitive Reaction Time Task. The results showed that there were significant differences in the emotions, hostility and aggression between the three groups.Among them, the subjects who experienced the failure of teammates caused their hostility and aggression to be significantly higher than their own causes, causing failure and opponents. The subjects who failed failed;the subjects who caused the failure by their own reasons and the failure of the opponents did not have significant differences in hostility and aggression.
