Peter Brooks started from Shoshana Felman 's questioning of the legitimacy of the theory of psychoanalysis composition literature, and found the embarrassing status quo of psychoanalysis as a literary theory. For this reason,he proposed the theory of desire narration, which he thought could make psychoanalysis as a legal literary theory.Peter Brooks inherited the tradition of psychoanalysis and structuralism and was deeply influenced by Paul rodman and others.Peter Brooks combined structuralism, psychoanalysis and narratology and put forward the theory of desire narrative psychoanalysis. The theory of desire narrative realizes the legitimacy of psychoanalysis as a literary theory in the field of literary theory and provides people with new views on desire in the field of literary criticism. On the basis of desire narration,it leads Lacan's realism theory to the criticism of realism, making the realist experience a universal experience of human interaction with the world. In the critical practice of realistic texts,he turned his attention to body criticism.Combining the fragments of body in realistic texts with the nude paintings in modern paintings,Peter Brooks took the connection between text and body as the focus of criticism and enriched the connotation of body criticism. His theoretical innovation and critical practice provide legal support for the psychoanalytic theory of body writing and body criticism and provide a new paradigm for the critical practice of psychoanalytic literary theory.Peter Brooks believes that the narrative theory of desire is a theory of healing, and the ability to heal is the internal structure of the subject and the instinct of human interaction with the world. The narrative theory of desire not only inherits the narrative tradition of literature, but also inherits the explanatory tradition of psychoanalysis, providing a paradigm of healing at the intersection of explanatory and narrative.
