A Study On Type Characteristics Of Chinese Fantasy Films In The New Century

The development of fantasy movies in China has experienced a long gestation process.And its germination is closely related to the development of early Chinese movies,which is from martial arts fantasy movies to traditional opera movies and children’s movies.Moreover,affected by the ideological control on the time axis,these movies have been cut off several times and have no perfect and stable commercial film mode.Until the new millennium,stimulated by Western fantasy movies such as ‘Avatar’ and ‘Spider-Man’,Chinese fantasy movies with local characteristics were introduced into the public’s view by drawing lessons from the classic Hollywood model of the West.For example,movies such as ‘Monster Hunt’ and ‘Mojin-The Lost Legend’ have achieved both box office and word-of-mouth success.Chinese fantasy movies have gradually formed a stable development trend,and their typological characteristics are becoming more and more prominent.So here comes to the fact that the feasibility of this study is based on the effective definition of time and the reasonable choice of research text,which is clearly explained in the introduction.At the same time,referring to the research results of genre films and Shen Guofang’s scholars’ concepts and canonical form theories,it is clearly stated at the beginning of the second chapter.Combining with the author’s analysis of several academic thesis on typology and related research literature on Chinese fantasy movies,this thesis establishes the research ideas.Through this study,the author tries to clarify several key issues:Firstly,from the perspective of conceptual interpretation,it further explains the heaven,earth,man and God in existentialism,and finds out the basic principles for the construction of the second world of Chinese fantasy movies.Moreover,starting from the mythological motif,we can restore the essence of modern Chinese fantasy and find its spiritual and cultural core.Secondly,it summarizes the external visual presentation of Chinese fantasy movies from three aspects: technical style,role prototype and scene setting.Thirdly,based on the main criticism narrative power and brand power of the development status of fantasy movies in China,the corresponding localization development strategies are put forward.
