Fantasy fiction of Mainland China is different from neither Western nor Hong Kong & Taiwan fantasy fiction. The former has long history and mature achievements and research; and the latter has formed common sense since its existence and its theoretical research matches creation and translation trends, even though it doesn't have long history.Fantasy fiction of Mainland China suddenly rises these years and presents a splendid sight. However, there are also many problems. This paper analyzes the basic problems of fantasy fiction of Chinese mainland.Chapter I delves into the clear definition of fantasy fiction of Mainland China firstly. As a new literary genre, it has no definite name. From the headspring of Western fantasy fiction, the author refines the possibility of giving a definition and tries to definite a unified name for this literary genre.Chapter II draws the outline of brief history of fantasy fiction of Mainland China. It traces to the source and review the development course of fantasy fiction of Mainland China regarding time as a clue.Chapter III emphasizes on analyzing the representative features of fantasy fiction of Mainland China. Firstly it analyzes Luo Sen and Huang Yi, the pioneering authors of Chinese fantasy fiction, and then it stresses on analyzing the representative authors and tries to point out the right and wrong.Chapter IV further analyzes the feature and dilemma of fantasy fiction of Mainland China.
