The Subjective Narrative Analysis Of Michael Moore's Documentary

Michael Moore is one of the representative directors of the new documentary film movement in the 1990 s."Roger and me","columbine's bowling","Fahrenheit 911","medical insider","capitalism: a love story","then where aggression" is in different stages of his works,these works all have a common artistic characteristics,namely Moore often involved in the shooting event as a narrator,trying with the "subjective" narrative to reveal its occurrence under the deeper truth.This also makes his works accused of violating the nature of objective documentary,with strong inflammatory personal color.Authenticity is the essential attribute of documentaries,and subjective expression,as a key part of constructing the authenticity of documentaries,has become a common way of expression.Therefore,how to control the subjective participation of creators in film creation is the main problem studied in this paper.This paper makes a comprehensive use of related theories of film science and narratology,and interprets the subjective narration in Michael Moore's documentary from the perspective of narratology.It is mainly divided into four parts: the first part mainly sorts out the origin of the development of subjective narration in Michael Moore's documentary.Based on the social and cultural context and the aesthetic concept of the documentary,this paper explores the artistic process of the subjective narration of Michael Moore's documentary.The second part mainly studies the narrative strategy of the subjective narration of Michael Moore's documentary.It is embodied in the individualization of audio-visual rhetoric.The narrative mode has the characteristics of diversification;The narrative structure turns to story-telling.The third part focuses on exploring the aesthetic characteristics of the subjective narration of Michael Moore's documentary.By analyzing the realistic view presented by its subjective narrative strategy,it is concluded that the aesthetic quality presented by Michael Moore's documentary is a kind of truth that seeks the essential truth through the appearance.This authenticity breeds the unique emotional expression and responsibility of the director.In the last part,the extended realistic reflection and experience summary are made on the subjective narration of Michael Moore's documentary.This paper speculates on the subjective narration of Michael Moore's documentary from a multi-dimensional perspective,which provides the viewers with free thinking space and a new reference perspective for the fusion and symbiosis of authenticity and artistry of Chinese documentaries.
