Roman Senchin is a contemporary Russian writer and critic.His novel?The Eltyshevs?tells the story of the family Eltyshevs,who was forced to move from city to countryside.The novel shows the serious dilemma of Russian countryside in a specific stage of social development and the spiritual pain of the peasants.?The Eltyshevs?has profound thought and abundant connotation.At present,there is a lack of attention to this book,which has won The Gorky literature Prize,so there are few relevant researches about this novel.In this article,the author choose?The Eltyshevs?as an object,based on the theory of �marginal man� in social psychology,this paper starts from the definition of the concept of �marginal man�and explains the three characteristics of �marginal man� and the three typical forms of expression of�marginal man� in literary works: those who wait,those who protest and those who fall;Using the research method of text analysis comprehensively,this paper analyzes in detail the images of the three �marginal man� in the novel: namely the protege Eltyshev,the waiting Valentina and the fallen Artyom.By analyzing and summarizing the internal characteristics,external environment and unique methods of image building of �marginal man�.Finally,this paper discusses the social and humanistic reflection and cultural enlightenment brought by the marginal figure in the novel,so as to explore the writer's creative style and literary appeal.The paper consists of three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction explains the background of the subject,the meaning of the study and the present state of the study.The text consists of four chapters.In the first chapter,we define the concept of �marginal man�,explains the characteristics of the image of �marginal man� and the typical forms of expression of the image in literary works.In the second chapter deeply analyzes the image of �marginal man� in the works,and discusses the internal characteristics and external environment of the formation of the image of �marginal man�.In the third chapter discusses the artistic technique of Roman Senchin's�marginal man� image building from three aspects: �detail description�,�psychological description� and �environment description�.In the last chapter reveals the humanistic reflection and cultural enlightenment contained in the image of �marginal man �.The conclusion is mainly a summary of the previous sections.
