With the new round of curriculum reform and teacher professionalization development in China,senior high school English teachers are facing greater pressure in the new curriculum reform and teaching tasks.For some senior high school English teachers,their attitude to work and their passion have got some structural deviations,which leads to the so called job burnout.Job burnout seriously affects the psychological and physical health of senior high school English teachers.It can reduce senior high school English teachers' teaching enthusiasm and self-confidence in their profession.They will gradually lose their motivation to pursue success in teaching.In recent years,although some scholars have studied job burnout,few have studied the correlation among senior high school English teachers' teaching efficacy,achievement motivation and job burnout.On the basis of theoretical research and survey results,this paper explores the correlation among senior high school English teachers' teaching efficacy,achievement motivation and teacher burnout.Some effective strategies will be put forward to enhance senior high school English teachers' teaching efficacy and achievement motivation,and improve their job burnout status.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the correlation among senior high school English teachers' teaching efficacy,achievement motivation and job burnout.Based on this,this paper aims to answer the following questions:(1)What are the current situation of senior high school English teachers' teaching efficacy,achievement motivation and teacher burnout ?(2)Are there any correlations among senior high school English teachers' teaching efficacy,achievement motivation and teacher burnout? If yes,what are the correlations?(3)In which dimensions and to what extent can teachers' teaching efficacy and achievement motivation predict teacher burnout? 130 senior high school English teachers were chosen from four senior high schools in Chifeng to work as subjects of this research.Questionnaires and semi-structure interview were used as instruments in this research.Teacher Teaching Efficacy Scale(TTES),Achievement Motivation Scale(AMS)and Maslach Burnout Inventory for Teachers(MBIES)were the main instruments used in this study.All the data was analyzed by descriptive statistics,correlation analysis and regression analysis with SPSS.22.0(Statistical Package for Social Science).The major findings are as follows:(1)Senior high school English teachers have a moderate level of job burnout and teaching efficacy.As for achievement motivation,their level of pursuing success is higher than that of avoiding failure.(2)Senior high school English teachers' teaching efficacy,achievement motivation and teacher burnout are highly correlated.Teaching efficacy is positively correlated with achievement motivation.Teacher burnout is negatively correlated with teaching efficacy.Teacher burnout is negatively correlated with achievement motivation.Teachers' teaching efficacy and achievement motivation can predict senior high school English teacher burnout to some degree.Based on the above research and the analysis of interview content,some suggestions are given to enhance senior high school English teachers' teaching efficacy and achievement motivation and reduce their teacher burnout.
