The quality education requires students to have the ability to comprehensively apply what they have learned.In junior high school English teaching,the writing skills can fully reflect the students' ability and level of comprehensive application of knowledge.However,in many schools,the comprehensive ability of junior middle school students to write in English has always been a weak link.Relevant literature show the flipped classroom is conducive to the improvement of the students' comprehensive ability.Based on related research results on flipped classroom study at home and abroad as well as the theories of constructivism learning and autonomous learning,this research applied the flipped classroom to English writing teaching in a junior middle school in Guangxi,with the purpose to improve the writing ability of the students.The research tries to find out the answers to the following questions:1.What positive effects will the flipped classroom have on the English writing scores of junior high school students?2.What problems should be paid attention to when applying flipped classroom in junior high school English writing teaching?The subjects of this study were 100 students from two parallel classes in the eighth year of Guilin Number Eleven middle School,Guangxi Autonomous Administration Region.The ninth class is the control class,and the tenth class is the experimental class.The teaching experiment lasted from the beginning to the end of the first semester in 2018.During this process,the research instrument of tests,questionnaire and interview were adopted.The flipped classroom teaching experiment was carried out in the experimental class,while the traditional teaching mode wasused in the control class.After a semester' teaching experiments,the following main findings were obtained:First of all,most students in the experimental class participating in the survey like the flipped classroom teaching mode,which can help stimulate their learning interest and potential.Secondly,independent inquiry and cooperative learning enhance their writing ability and their independent learning ability.The higher degree of freedom enables students to explore knowledge points according to their own needs,and the improvement of thinking ability is conducive to their systematic understanding and mastery of knowledge.Their English writing learning habits were thus improved.Finally,there are some problems in the application of flipped classroom in the teaching of junior middle school English writing.For example,some students play games or make small talk during their self-study time on the Internet,and teachers lack energy and resources when designing the content of flipped classroom instruction.
