| In order to train students to adapt to the development of learning in the new era,the high-frequency word “Key Competency” has reverberated over the basic education of our country,from which the “English Key Competency” in English subject has also pointed out the direction for the development of English basic education in China.Senior high teachers are the implementer of the basic education,the teaching design is the important carrier of their educational ideas and guiding thought,plays the vital role in teaching.On the basis of document analysis,this study expounds the relationship and connotation between Key Competency and English Key Competency,based on the teaching concept of the Key Competency and Humanistic Education Theory.This thesis makes the analysis of 30 English reading teaching designs in senior high school based on English Key Competency,and by using classroom observations and interviewing of 15 teachers.The research aims to answer the following two questions:(1)What is the status of the application of English Key Competency on reading teaching design in senior high school?(2)What are the factors that influence English Key Competency on English reading teaching design in senior high school? Through the investigation,it is found that senior high school English teachers have formed the concept of English Key Competency in teaching,and they can consciously implement it in English reading teaching design.The training of language ability is the key points in designing reading teaching for senior high English teachers,but the complement of cultural background knowledge and the training of students’ cultural consciousness is less for demand in reading teaching design.It is not enough to cultivate students’ innovative thoughts and critical thinking;in theirteachers’ reading teaching design,the contents of cultivating students’ autonomous learning,reflective learning and helping them form good habits in English learning are enough,meanwhile realizing the importance of English learning and adjusting their learning strategies is less.The main factor that affects the implementation of English Key Competency is the examination-oriented education,the second is that the teaching materials are outdated,and the teachers’ understanding about English Key Competency is not deep enough to carry it out in their teaching design.In addition,the students’ inherent passive learning habits also make it difficult to implement English Key Competency in teachers’ teaching design. |
