This translation practice report is an analysis and summary based on the author's translation of chapters 1-4 of Creative Strategy and the Business of Design.This translation practice comes from the translation project organized by the supervisor.After the translation is submitted,it will be reviewed by experts and published later.The original text belongs to informative text.Guided by Newmark's communicative translation strategy,the translator adopts different translation methods to solve the problems at lexical,syntactic and textual level in order to convey accurate information to the target language readers.The translator summarizes the translation principles of informative text according to the translation practice,that is,the translator must ensure the accuracy of the information and the acceptance of the target language readers.This practice report is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is task description,which explains the source,content,requirements and significance of the task.The second chapter describes the process,including three stages: task preparations,translation process and proofreading.In the process of translation preparation,the translator analyzes the text characteristics and writing style of the source text,selects the translation strategy according to the text type,and carries on the study of the parallel text and so on.The third chapter is case analysis,and it is the core of this practice report.It is a detailed analysis of some typical cases of the material in terms of lexical,syntactic and textual level under the guidance of Newmark's communicative translation strategy.Combined with the specific translation skills,the translator tries to make the translation have the same effect on the target language readers as the original text does on the source language readers.The fourth chapter summarizes the gains and shortcomings of the translation practice.
