The Study Of Shuo Wen Jie Zi Xi Zhuan Voice Gloss

Xu Kai's Shuo Wen Jie ZiXi Zhuan,is the first work of Comprehensive arrangement and systematic explain to Shuo Wen.The study of Shuo Wen has pioneering and symbolic significance.Voice gloss is Xu Kai's important exegetical way of annotating Shuo Wenu,it's purpose is to explore the origin of things' names and the relationship between words.According to our statistics,there are 465 voice gloss in Shuo Wen Jie Zi Xi Zhuan.Gradually from germination to prosperity during the Qin and Han Dynasties.After the Han and Wei Dynasties,with the change of phonological voice gloss no longer used on a large scale.Until the Qianjia period of the Qing dynasty,textual researcher enlightened by voice gloss,consciously using the method of “seeking meaning from voice” to seek etymology,this exegetical method has been taken seriously again.So Xu Kai large-scale use the voice gloss,it has special significance in the history of Exegetics and it is worth exploring in depth.We searched for 465 materials of vioce gloss in Xu Kai's Xi Zhuan with an all-round way.From the linguistic point of view,this paper analyses the object,the way of expression and the specific application situation of voice gloss,and investigates the inheritance and innovation of voice gloss in Shuo Wen Xi Zhuan to the preceding generation's interpretation and its influence on later generations.From the concrete analysis,we can see that Xu Kai's extensive use of homophonic characters as a interpretation(About 66.02% of the total voice gloss),the voice gloss of shuo wen xi zhuan has a direct impact to the formation of "YouWen theory" in Song Dynasty.To the Qing Dynasty,The confucianists of the Qing dynasty first developed the theory of “YouWen” into the theory of “YouYin”,then cast off the body of characters completely and explain etymology with sound as a starting point,Major breakthroughs have been made from “Chinese Literature” to “Linguistics”.In the process Xu Kai's voice gloss has the function of connecting the past with the future.The purpose of this study is to analyses the inheritance and innovation of the voice instruction in Shuo Wen Xi Zhuan and its influence on the development history of exegetics in later generations,clarify its due position in the history of exegetics.
