The research object of this dissertation is Mongolian Chopsticks Dance.Under the perspective of art studies and esthetics,combining its method of creating and aesthetic expression,this dissertation analyses the features of creating Mongolian Chopsticks Dance,the reasons of its success,opportunities,challenges and the trend of its development.The followings are the author's two main understandings:First,from the perspective of the creation of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance since 1980,its creative style is different from that of traditional chopsticks dance while also has some degree of connection.Mongolia Chopsticks Dance is a new development of traditional chopsticks dance.Traditional chopsticks dance has simple dance forms,rich styles and lasting appeal.After the founding of Inner Mongolia AutonomousRegion,a large number of dance enthusiasts have been to Erdos to gather materials of chopsticks dance and have created a lot of chopsticks dance works.On the stage,chopsticks dance reflects the new appearance of grassland life.It has won high praise from literary and art workers and left a deep impression on the audience home and abroad and attracted a lot of people to imitate and learn.These works,having a breakthrough in creative forms,are treasures of the development of Mongolian dance and have promoted the influence of Mongolian dance.Second,the achievement of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance since 1980 is the result of collective aesthetic creativity both from Mongolian dance and art workers and choreographers who love grassland culture.These dance artists who are rooted in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,conforming to historic trends,have integrated grassland culture,cultivation culture,traditional culture and contemporary culture,and they have accumulated rich practical experience in creating chopsticks dance.From long-term study and research of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance,the author has recognized that folk dance works that are created by and inherited from the masses are the sources of Chinese dance and art works.Traditional chopsticks dance,which belongs to Mongolian folk dance and whose creativeforms have deeply rooted in its historical background,is an important part of Mongolian traditional culture.There are four chapters in Study on the creation of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance since 1980:Chapter One: The summary of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance creation since 1980.This chapter,based on historical materials and the method of collecting and searching,points out that the development of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance is mainly influenced by the regional environment,traditional culture and customs.This chapter elaborates the origin of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance and the connotation of native culture,discusses inheriting and learning and the change of creating,analyses the birth of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance,clarifying the development process of the creation of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance since 1980.Chapter Two: The basic themes and artistic presentations of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance since 1980.This chapter,observing Mongolian Chopsticks Dance from artistic perspective,divides basic themes based on twelve dance works and analyses their internal and external forms,including respective artistic features.This chapter mainly discusses the unique method of creating Mongolian Chopsticks Dance,such asconveying personal feelings,building characters and presenting regional customs and conditions through chopsticks,and discusses the integration of Mongolian traditional culture and chopsticks dance works.Meanwhile,this chapter mainly elaborates internal dance structure and external dance language and analyses respective artistic features.From the works,we can see that the use of chopsticks enjoys further development in Mongolian Chopsticks Dance.The works demonstrates the creators' focus on real life and their deep exploration of regional artistic features.Mongolian Chopsticks Dance emphasizes on the demonstration of personal real feelings and it also conveys the aesthetic pursue of daily-life and far beyond,which instills power into the creating of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance.Chapter Three: The specialized creation of formation and aesthetic value analysis of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance since1980.This chapter focuses on discussing its causes of formation and analyzing its aesthetic value from esthetics perspective following Chapter Two.Among many causes,the establishing of cultural and artistic organizations,the compiling of basic training textbooks of chopsticks dance and the cultivating of dance talents are three main causes.It canbe realized that the high ability of dance creators and the aesthetic need of audience through analyzing the aesthetic value of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance creation.Chapter Four: Contemporary forms and developmental thinking of the stage works of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance since1980.This chapter,from dance itself,analyses contemporary forms of and problems in the creation of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance,and it also summarizes the effect of creators' modern concepts while studies the aesthetic evolution of creative direction,which arouses consciousness of innovation and creates a co-existence environment to keep and increase the vitality of Mongolian Chopsticks Dance.
