Methods And Theoretical Significance Of Ren Jiyu's Interoretation Of Lao Tzu

Ren Jiyu is an important figure in the study of Lao Tzu in China.His study of Lao Tzu began in the 1950 s.His first translation of Lao Tzu Jin Yi,which systematically summarized Lao Tzu's thoughts,concluded that Lao Tzu was materialistic and had a great influence at that time.In the 1970 s,Ren Jiyu once again translated Lao Tzu,entitled Lao Tzu Xin Yi,which redefined the nature of Lao Tzu 's thought and considered his thought as idealistic.In the 80 s,Ren Jiyu also made a big revision to Lao Tzu Xin Yi,and to reflect on the previous research methods,the thought of Lao Tzu reappraisal,he thought it is one-sided to divide Lao Tzu's thought into materialism or idealism,which beyond the level of understanding at that time,the reflection on the Lao Tzu compared to the past reached a new height.Lao Tzu Quan Yi in the 1990 s basically continues the main ideas of the revised edition and improves some translation discourses.In the early 21 st century,Ren Jiyu once again translated Lao Tzu and published a book named Lao Tzu Yi Du,in which he reinterpreted Lao Tzu's thoughts from the perspective of Lao Tzu's cultural origin and contribution to Chinese culture,bringing his study of Lao Tzu to a new level.By combing the process of Ren Jiyu's four translations of Lao Tzu,we can see the transformation process of his research method,which reflects his rigorous academic attitude,and his constant reflection and summary of previous studies make his understanding of Lao Tzu more and more profound.His research on Lao Tzu's thought in several different periods reflects the development characteristics of the research of Lao Tzu in different periods.From the process of the four translations,we can conclude Ren Jiyu's change in methodology and his basic attitude to the thoughts of Lao Tzu,summarize the methods and approaches to study ancient classics,and reflect on some problems in the history of philosophy,which is of theoretical value.
