Philosophy is a science that studies people since ancient time. The study of humanism is one of the major issues in the history of philosophy and it is generally recognized as the "Riddle of Sphinx" Marx has spent his all life thinking about the fate of mankind and the development of human beings. He devoted his time to the philosophy of benefiting mankind and struggled for the cause of all mankind's happiness.Although in Marx's classical works, there is no direct concept of humanistic thought and no systematic explanation and demonstration of humanistic thought, the question about human beings is the premise and foundation for the study of Marxist philosophy.Marx took people who are engaged in social work in certain social life as study object. It refers to a real and concrete person in life.He regards the real person as a point of departure to study the nature of the person.Marx's discussion on the relationship between human and social historical development, namely his human-oriented thought, runs throughout Marx philosophy. It is acknowledged as the "Copernicus revolution" of human research in the history of philosophy, and the theory of the complete liberation and overall development of human beings. The paper attempts to define the concept of humanism through in-depth study of Marxist theory, summarize the theoretical content of Marx's humanism, and analyze the contemporary value of Marx's humanism.Through sorting out a series of classical works of Marx,it can be seen that the formation of Marx's human-centered thought experienced five stages: the embryonic period, the formation period, the development period, the formation theory and the perfection period.Through the study of the historical conditions and theoretical creation process of Marx's humanistic ideology, the theoretical content and ideological characteristics of Marx's humanistic thought are summarized.Marx's humanistic thought has a strong ideological basis and theoretical source, including the humanistic ideology in ancient Greek civilization, the humanism of European Renaissance, the humanistic thought of the 18 th century Enlightenment, the theory of the 19 th century French utopian socialist, and the German classical philosophy. The series of theories on Hegel's "conceptual people" and Feuerbach's "abstract people" constitute the cultural and theoretical source of Marxist humanism. On the basis of criticizing and inheriting predecessors,Marx introduced people with practical thinking and practice to create a scientific humanistic thought.Tracing the origin of Marx's humanistic thinking can help us better grasp the ideological value of Marx's humanism. The Marxist humanistic ideological theory system contains scientific values and historical significance of human cognition. It has an important guiding role in the development of contemporary China. The study of Marxist humanism not only enriches Marxist theory. The knowledge structure will have important theoretical and practical values for building socialism with Chinese characteristics and for its contemporary development.
