Research On Tian Xiaofei's Palace-style Poetry Studies In Beacon Fire And Shooting Star

The book Beacon Fire and Shooting Star: The Literature and Culture of the Liang(502-557)is an important work of American sinologist Tian Xiaofei in the field of Chinese medieval literature.The core point of the book is that “the Liang Dynasty Palace-Style Poetry is not Erotic Poetry”,and it speak highly of the literature and culture of the Liang Dynasty,which is different from traditional academic viewpoints.This thesis takes the part of the Liang Dynasty Palace-Style Poetry in the book as the research object,fully draws on the existing research results at home and abroad,carefully and intensively combs and analyzes through the methods of text reading and contrast reading,carries out meticulous and in-depth analysis and analysis,reveals the author's unique academic achievements,and explores what is worth discussing.This thesis consists of five parts.The introduction part summarizes the research status of the Liang Dynasty Palace-Style Poetry at home and abroad,and introduces the characteristics of Tian Xiaofei's academic studies,both the research status and research value of Beacon Fire and Shooting Star.At present,most of the researches on Tian Xiaofei focus on her research methods,and there is not much research on her PalaceStyle Poetry theory.The first chapter combs Tian Xiaofei's background research on the Liang Dynasty Palace-Style Poetry,and restores the social background from the perspectives of politics,religion and literature.Tian Xiaofei tried to realize the "reversal" of the Liang Dynasty literature by demonstrating the enthusiasm of the Liang Dynasty's social context in this period,that is,the literary genre produced in an active society will not be "decadence."The second chapter discusses the ontology research of the Liang Dynasty PalaceStyle Poetry in Beacon Fire and Shooting Star,focusing on Tian Xiaofei's definition of Palace-Style Poetry,the understanding of the characteristics of Palace-Style Poetry,and " thenew looking poetics ".In this part,the thesis explores Tian Xiaofei's research path,examines its rationality,and summarizes its advantages and disadvantages.This thesis agrees with Tian Xiaofei's view that "Palace-Style Poetry is not the same as Erotic Poetry ",but it puts forward different views on the use of the word "elegance" to raise the ideal of Palace-Style Poetry.In addition,Tian Xiaofei pointed out that the characteristics of Palace-Style Poetry are "New Changes",breakthroughs in imagery and female consciousness.This paper believes that the first two points are more pertinent,but the third point is still debatable.The reason is that the Palace-Style poems reflect the obvious male consciousness.For Tian Xiaofei's new poetics of "looking",this article examines the time of "looking" and the content of "thought-instant" in the theoretical basis of poetics,and conducts statistics and analysis on the poetry texts related to the lights and candles,thus discovering the faults.The third chapter selects two of the Palace-Style poets,Xiao Gang and Yu Xin,who have been discussed much in this book,to conduct case studies.Tian Xiaofei believes that Xiao Gang has an innovative spirit.Her interpretation of Yu Xin provides us with a new perspective on the poet's research level: from the aesthetic perspective of temperance to appreciate the works of the late ages.Finally,the conclusion summarizes the methods and research ideas in Beacon Fire and Shooting Star.Tian Xiaofei pays attention to the formation of problems,keeps vigilance against various ideologies and interpretation traditions in the research process,and adopts traditional methods of study and western literary criticism.The combination of theories has provided us with inspiration and reference.At the same time,this thesis points out that Tian Xiaofei's strong and alienated attitude towards traditional literary ideas will lead the research to the other extreme.
