Research On The "Narration,Comparison And Association" In Book Of Poetry(Shi Jing)’s French Version Translated By Xu Yuanchong

Based on the cultural perspective of translation,this essay aims to researching the expression and explanation of the “Narration,Comparison and Association”(Fu,Bi,Xing)in Livre de la Poésie [ the Book of Poetry(Shijing)’s French version],which is translated by Xu Yuanchong and published by China Market Press in 2016.Firstly,in regard to the Narration(Fu),Xu Yuanchong’s Livre de la Poésie restores the direct and plain narration in the original version.It also shows some features contained in the Narration: hierarchy,dialogic and temporal space.Secondly,in regard to the Comparison(Bi),the writer treats the images of animals,plants,natural inanimate objects and artificial objects as entry points,and gets the result :Xu Yuanchong shows the rhetorical characteristics of the Comparison which is used for insinuating the people’s activities through the similar behaviors taken by the specific objects.Whereas,some techniques of translation promoted by Xu Yuanchong,such as “Simplification” and “Beauty in sense” may disturb the Comparison’s expression.Thirdly,in regard to the Association(Xing),the writer mainly discusses its manifestation and cultural connotation,he proves that Xu Yuanchong shows the Association’s features in creating like “arousing the emotion”and “making the rhyme harmonious”.Its aesthetical notion – “ The harmony between the humans and nature” is also presented.In addition,Xu Yuanchong manifests some further functions that aroused by the Association like eulogizing,satirizing,presenting the customs and moralizing.The conclusions of the Research on the “Narration,Comparison and Association” in Book of Poetry(Shi Jing)’s French Version Translated by Xu Yuanchong:Firstly,Xu Yuanchong has restored the literary essence of the “Narration,Comparison and Association”.He shows the differences and similarities between these three writing techniques and corrects the biased errors of the former French translators on the “Narration,Comparison and Association”.Secondly,Livre de laPoésie has focused on the cultural connotation hidden in the “Narration,Comparison and Association”.With the aids of obvious translation and notes,Xu Yuanchong highlights the contents of politics,custom and morality in the original version.Thirdly,whether served as writing techniques or the culture carriers,the “Narration,Comparison and Association” reveal the prototype of Chinese literature and the national psychology of Chinese.They also indicate some universal meanings suited to the contemporary world.Xu Yuanchong has concluded and presented all of them in Livre de la Poésie.
