Sense of agency(SoA)is the experience of influencing the outside world through controlling one's behavior. Many researchers divided SoA into two levels: feeling of agency(FoA)and judgment of agency(JoA).Explicit judgment paradigm and implicit temporal binding paradigm were used for measurement respectively. On one influential view, sense of agency comes from retrospective process that the sense of agency is computed by matching predicted and actually experienced consequences of movement and the prospective process,in advance of the action itself and before knowing the actual effect of actions.Action selection fluency is an important factor affecting pros processing.Subliminal priming paradigm or supraliminal stimulus-response compatibility paradigm are used to manipulate unconscious or conscious action selection fluency, and action selection processes more or less fluent under compatible conditions and incompatible conditions. However, the effect of conscious action selection fluency on sense of agency is still controversial.Compared with the conflict trials of action selection, sense of agency is higher or equal under the fluency trials of action selection. The reason for this controversy may be that researchers did not take into account the structural factors of sense of agency. The research paradigm adopted is only a single explicit paradigm or an implicit paradigm, resulting in the confusion of sense of agency levels, that is,some measures the judgment of agency, and some measures the feeling of agency.Conscious action selection fluency may have different effects on the two levels of sense of agency. In this study, explicit judgment paradigm and implicit temporal binding paradigm were used to explore whether the different consequences originated from previous studies measured different levels of sense of agency. In addition, previous studies on unconscious action selection fluency only measured the judgment of agency. We will continue to use the temporal binding paradigm to explore its impact on the feeling of agency and confirm the impact of unconscious action selection fluency on the levels of sense of agency. In this study, two experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of action selection fluency on sense of agency. The main purpose of Experiment 1 was to explore the influence of conscious action selection fluency on the judgement and feeling of agency. In Experiment 1a and 1b,Flanker paradigm and Simon paradigm were used respectively to verify whether the fluency of action selection manipulated by different t supraliminal stimulus-response compatibility paradigm have the same effect on sense of agency. The main purpose of Experiment 2 is to verify the influence of unconscious actions selection fluency on the judgment of agency, and to explore its influence on the feeling of agency. This study has the following conclusions:(1)The conscious action selection fluency affects the feeling of agency, but does not affect the judgment of agency.(2)Different supraliminal stimulus-response compatibility paradigm has a consistent effect on the sense of agency.(3)The unconscious action selection fluency affects the judgment of agency, but does not affect the feeling of agency. In summary,we found that the conscious action selection fluency does not affect the judgment of agency, but it affects the feeling of agency. The unconscious action selection fluency does affect the judgment of agency, but it affects the feeling of agency.Conscious and unconscious prospective cues have different effects on the two levels of sense of agency.
