The status of European novel has reached modern times, and it has kept pace with the epic and tragedy with a long history. As far as modern and contemporary European literature is concerned, novel has developed into one of the main types. In the history of novel development,Defoe, who enjoys the name of "father of novel",has contributed a lot. This is not only because his novels are written earlier than most people, but also because his works are in a period of changing times. For the whole society, his works reflect the situation in the period of social transformation. In addition,as far as fiction is concerned, its rise is closely related to the development of the new bourgeois society at that time, and Defoe was deeply influenced by the spirit of the rising bourgeoisie, only then could he create a novel that conforms to the background of the times.Robinson's life experience on the island reflects his enterprising spirit of perseverance, indomitable survival and not easy to give up.At the same time,he also reflects the bourgeois enterprising and colonizing thought from such a distinctive hero.Robinson,an optimistic and brave man, overcomes difficulties through hard work, wisdom and courage, and shows the modern spirit of pursuing adventure and advocating personal struggle.Since the Opium War,influenced by cultural acceptance,we have attached great importance to the translation and introduction of English and American literature.China has studied Defoe's works for more than one hundred years. The main translations of Defoe's works by Chinese scholars include Robinson Crusoe,Moore Flanders,The Age of the Plague,Rockshanna,Captain Jack and Captain Pirate, etc. The most important one in the study of Defoe's works in the past century is Robinson Crusoe. This is closely related to the content of the work, the author's understanding of China and the expectation of Chinese people. This paper chooses Defoe,a typical European and American writer who has been translated, studied and accepted for a hundred years, and Robinson Crusoe, his important work,to re-examine the works of Chinese scholars in the past century from the historical details. The translation and research,as well as its influence and Enlightenment on Chinese society, will analyze the evolution of Robinson's image, and try to find its commonness and individuality with the overall process of Sinicization of European and American literature. From the earliest Shen Zufen's translation of The Jedi Crusoe to many translations today,Robinson Crusoe's drifting process in China is not smooth.Because it is in the special historical development period of China for one hundred years,Robinson's image is constantly changing in China, and there are different interpretations in different historical periods. The author believes that China's acceptance of Robinson's image in the past century can be roughly divided into three stages. The first stage is the image of "colonial hero" in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, then the image of "bourgeois" since the founding of the People's Republic, and finally the image of "creator" since the 1990 s.These images are closely related to the social development and socio-political and cultural background of China at that time in these three stages, thus reflecting the dissemination and acceptance of foreign literature in China.Affected by the change of social background in modern China.
