An Analysis Of The Reason And Influence Of The Auxiliary Capital Construction During The Tang Dynasty

Auxiliary capital is a type of capital,in addition to the capital,the rulers of ancient Chinese Dynasties set up other auxiliary capitals in other cities for the purpose pf stabilizing their management.The Tang Dynasty,which lasted for nearly 300 years,was one of the most powerful unified dynasties in ancient China with a vast territory.In order to rule the vast territory more effectively,the rulers of Tang Dynasty set up auxiliary capitals which imitated the former dynasty.Chang'an was the main capital of country.Luoyang was the earliest capital of the country,and Taiyuan and the other five auxiliary capitals were established.During this period,the auxiliary capitals flourished and abolished frequently,formed two-Auxiliary capital system,three-Auxiliary capital system and Five-Auxiliary Capital system,and the auxiliary capital system showed diversified characteristics.The reasons for the changes in the construction of auxiliary capital in the Tang Dynasty were both accidental and inevitable,and the specific elements were also different.The establishment of auxiliary capital in Tang Dynasty had important influence on the development of Tang Dynasty in that time,the capital establishment of the surrounding countries and later ages.The content of this paper is mainly discussing the following six parts:The first part is the introduction.Including to the explanation of the reasons and significance of the topic selection,the related concepts of the auxiliary capital,and evaluation of the previous research results of the Tang Dynasty's auxiliary capital content-related works and periodical papers.The second part is the process of the construction and evolution of the auxiliary capital in Tang Dynasty.By placing the study of auxiliary capital in the specific historical period of the Tang Dynasty,combining with the political,economic and military cultural background of the times,this paper makes a statement and the analysis of the development stages of the establishment of auxiliary capital in the Tang Dynasty and the rise or fall of each auxiliary capital.The third part is the main function of Tang's auxiliary capitals.Auxiliary capital is a kind of city which has it's irreplaceable function.According to the role of auxiliary capital,it can be divided into four directions: political function,military function,economic function and cultural function.Although some companions set up for a short time,they still played special roles in terms of their urban functions.Through the study of the functions of these auxiliary capitals,we can deepen the understanding of the reasons for the establishment of auxiliary capitals.The fourth part is the reasons for the establishment of Tang's auxiliary capital.This part is the key content of this article,analyze the reasons for the establishment of auxiliary capital mainly by the political management factors,military decision-making factors,socio-economic factors and traffic geography factors.The fifth part is the influence of the auxiliary capital establishment in Tang Dynasty.This paper mainly discusses the influence of the establishment of establishment capital in Tang Dynasty on the Tang Dynasty authorities,and on the capital construction of Bohai and Nanzhao countries around the Tang Dynasty,Liao Dynasty and Jin Dynasty in later generation.The sixth part is the conclusion.Summarizing the above-mentioned chapters and focusing on the reasons and effects of the auxiliary capital which concluded the reasons for the establishment of the auxiliary capital are closely related to the social background factors at that time,but in essence,the rulers are to maintain the long-term stability of their regime.
