Chorus art originated from the west.Within a century of its introduction into our country, supported by advanced western concepts,it has had a fierce collision with many traditional cultures in our country, and has also produced many excellent ethnic choral works, which have extremely cultural characteristics of ethnic regions and are facing various challenges in conducting art.Korean chorus has strong national characteristics. However, due to the unique changes in length, the use of unconventional rhythms and the changes in logical stress in its music,it has become a difficult point to deeply understand and analyze Korean music. In addition,it becomes even more difficult to put Korean-style works into a chorus that requires relatively uniform rhythm and articulation. The mixed chorus "New Arirang" is adapted by composer Wang Tianyi according to the Korean folk song Arirang. It aims to excavate and analyze the traditional cultural heritage of the Korean nationality, hoping to perfectly combine the essence of regional culture with the development of the times,in order to express the Korean nation's adherence to love and its strong and unyielding national spirit. While inheriting the Korean ballad Arirang, the work infuses modern thinking as well as modern chorus techniques and sound effects. The combination of vocals and gongs with Janggu is an innovation based on the protection of the original melody of the ballad Arirang. In 2017,New Arirang was supported by the China National Art Fund.As a small stage art project,we need to revise some details of the work.Based on this, this article makes a detailed explanation of the artistic features and treatment of the mixed chorus "New Arirang" from the perspective of the conductor. With regard to artistic treatment, the author has conducted in-depth and detailed research on speed and intensity, rhythm and beat, vertical and horizontal layout, pictures, emotions, timbre, acoustics, command actions, etc.in order to carry forward national and local culture, and at the same time explore a brand-new road for the integration of multiple music cultures and provide theoretical basis for the "collegial" chorus practice mode.In this paper, through the combination of observation and documentary methods, and in accordance with the concept of integrating theory with practice, the author respects the cultural connotation of the works and hopes to provide some references for more chorus lovers.
